Job summary

A leading insurance firm in London is seeking an Underwriter to assess and underwrite commercial risks through broker channels. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of underwriting experience and a solid understanding of the UK insurance market. Responsibilities include reviewing risk submissions and providing pricing recommendations based on company guidelines. Required qualifications include Cert CII or equivalent.

Responsible for underwriting commercial risks through broker channel

• Location: London
• Type: Permanent

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Assess and underwrite risks, including but not limited to SME package, commercial combined, property owner and liability risks
• Review and analyse risk submissions, working with brokers to gather all necessary information for risk assessment
• Provide accurate pricing recommendations and terms following the Company’s underwriting guidelines and business strategy
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, as well as the Underwriting Framework in the business process
• Cert CII or equivalent professional qualification
• Dip CII and progressing towards ACII qualification is preferred but not required
• Minimum 3 years of underwriting experience of SME package, commercial combined or property owner risks
• Knowledge of the UK general insurance market and relevant regulatory practices and legislations
• Proficiency in MS Office package, including Word, Excel and PPT and use of Teams
