Are you an experienced, manual underwriter seeking a new challenge working for a customer centric mortgage provider? Our client prides themselves on offering a wide portfolio of lending, from complex residential, BTL, Holiday lets, Self Build and more!

Within this role, you will be responsible for manually underwriting all types of mortgages and offering an exemplary service to both customers and intermediaries. This is a 12-month, fixed term contract.

Duties of the Underwriter will include:

  • Process mortgage Decision in Principle (DIP) requests from intermediaries
  • Maintain accurate records and notes throughout all stages of the mortgage application
  • To consider mortgage applications outside standard lending policy where a justifiable business reason exists
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of products, policy, processes and procedures

It is essential that you have previous manual underwriting experience, specifically with more complex lending and have held a mandate.

Their head office is based in Lancashire and they are happy to consider this role as mainly remote, with circa 2 days per month based at their head office (more initially for the training period).

Please note that there is a requirement to work one Saturday from 9am – 12.00 pm every 6/7 weeks (which would be remotely).
