Join us in our purpose of getting every team on a mission to actually do business better.
At businessfourzero, a Heidrick & Struggles Company, we make purpose‑led growth a reality. We align executive teams around bold strategies, galvanize their people, and embed lasting change into the culture, behaviours, and capabilities of their business.
We’re founded on the belief that for businesses to thrive in the world today, they need to both succeed commercially and drive positive societal impact. If you’re driven by solving complex challenges, energised by working shoulder‑to‑shoulder with clients, and obsessed with delivering real impact - not just recommendations - you’ll fit right in.
We are looking to add a Senior Designer to our UK team. This position is located in London and is a full‑time, in‑office (hybrid) role, with related travel as needed.
Your Impact
- Lead the way in design: setting and steering the creative vision across projects, translating strategy into compelling visual storytelling that drives real impact. Creating distinctive, high‑impact design, mentoring others on craft and style, presenting confidently to stakeholders, and upholding exceptional creative quality throughout.
- Act as a strategic thought partner: collaborating closely with consulting teams and client leads to translate complex business challenges into powerful, experience‑led design solutions.
- Coach and mentor designers: inspiring and developing junior and mid‑level designers, providing constructive feedback, fostering growth, and building creative confidence across the team.
- Drive excellence across the full design journey: from shaping bold conceptual ideas through to refined execution across content, environments, and experience design.
- Champion the craft and culture of design: elevating the standard of creativity across the business, promoting best practice in storytelling, systems thinking, and visual expression.
- Advocate for design’s impact: influencing clients and colleagues to see design as a driver of transformation, not just aesthetics.
Your Growth
- Gaining hands‑on experience in strategy, leadership, and culture consulting.
- Learning from brilliant team‑mates who will challenge and champion you.
- Building relationships with senior clients and their teams.
- Seeing your work make a real‑world difference.
- Contributing to a growing global team with the opportunity to shape our culture and approach.
- Receiving the opportunities, tools, and coaching to receive and deploy feedback in real time.
- Working in a culture of brilliance, candour, autonomy, and ambition – with a team ready to disrupt the consulting industry.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is thoughtful, driven, and ready to step into a high‑impact role, ideally with 7–10 years’ experience working across graphic design and experience design disciplines — from brand and data visualization to experience and spatial/exhibition design; with prior experience in a creative consultancy environment is highly‑valued.
You’ll bring a deep understanding of multiple engagement principles — from editorial and environmental branding design to immersive exhibitions — along with strong design thinking, conceptual development, and experience design skills, enabling you to move seamlessly from idea to implementation.
To achieve real impact, our work requires a balance of Human, Commercial, and Creative Insight. That means you bring to this role your own unique blend of skills that are:
Human
- Emotional intelligence that builds trust, uncovers insights, and understands what it takes to supercharge a team and drive behaviour change.
- A natural leader and mentor — energizing teams, providing direction, and nurturing emerging talent.
- Comfortable leading multiple workstreams while balancing creativity, structure, and delivery; you can also multitask effectively across fast‑paced sprints and short‑timeline projects.
- Highly organized, articulate, and confident presenting creative ideas to both internal and client audiences.
Commercial
- A business geek mindset: you don’t just understand how big businesses work, you’re passionate about them and the role of culture in driving commercial performance.
- Practical understanding of what will and won’t work in the real world.
- Have a strategic mindset — able to connect creative ideas to client goals, business strategy, and audience insight.
- Thriving in collaborative, cross‑functional environments and co‑creating with strategists, consultants, and marketing teams, coupled with working alongside diverse production partners to bring experiences to life.
Creative
- Exceptional craft skills across Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) familiarity with presentation tools is a plus.
- Impeccable eye for design detail with confidence in critique and feedback, reviewing designs to provide detailed feedback on composition, color theory, typography, balance, and alignment.
- Cut‑through communication skills, with a strong creative eye to design game‑changing experiences and materials.
- Obsessed with what’s new and next in design, technology, and culture — and how it can shape better human experiences.
- Expansive thinking to crack challenges, synthesize information clearly, and evoke the right emotions.
