Job description
Responsibilities

The post holder will be trained to undertake a wide range of OH Services including:

  • Health clearance assessments based on Department of Health guidance and local policy
  • Provision of fitness for work advice to Trust managers and staff
  • Assessment of sharps injuries
  • Health surveillance
  • Undertaking clinical audits
  • Workplace vaccinations at Worthing and St Richard's Hospitals, To work as a specialist autonomous practitioner, managing own caseload.
  • Responsible and accountable for specialist advice given to managers and staff.
  • To assess fitness to work and provide recommendations including adjustments and advice, taking into account disability under the Equality Act 2010.
  • Recognise where further advice is required and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Request medical reports where identified additional information is required.
  • Maintain accurate written/typed records.
  • Produce accurate typed reports following OH assessments.
  • Participate in health surveillance if required.
  • Undertake and participate in clinical audits.
  • Undertake assessments for staff exposure to blood and body fluids, arranging follow up care where indicated.
  • Carry out blood taking and vaccination clinics as required.
