Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Academics are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled SEN Tutor to provide personalised academic support to children and young people aged 5 to 18 years.

You will deliver tailored academic sessions that meet each pupil's individual learning plan, helping them build confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Sessions may take place in the home, school, community settings, or online.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, personalised tutoring across core subjects (English, Maths, Science, etc.)
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and SEN profiles
  • Create engaging, structured lessons that support academic progress and emotional wellbeing
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with learners and families
  • Monitor progress and provide clear feedback and session reports
  • Work collaboratively with parents/carers, schools, and professionals where required
  • Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Experienced working with children or young people with SEN
  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible in their teaching approach
  • Confident delivering learning at a range of levels from primary to GCSE
  • Skilled in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Highly organised with strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
