SEN & SEMH Support Tutors Wanted (Daytime)

Location: Leicester (LE2, LE3, LE5, LE7)

Pay Rate: £28‑£33 per hour

Contract: 30 Hours per week (Mon‑Fri, 09:00‑16:00)

Are you passionate about boosting confidence and academic success for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you hold a QTS?

We are looking for dedicated tutors who can look past the label and see the potential, providing high‑quality, individualised tuition to students who need it most.

This is a unique opportunity to build meaningful, long‑term relationships with students across Key Stages 1‑5, helping them re‑engage with education in a safe and supportive environment.

The Role in Detail

You will be matched with students (typically working with 2 children per week, 15 hours each) to provide consistency and stability.

Holistic Support: Your primary focus is building self‑esteem and social development alongside academic progress, specifically for students with SEN and SEMH requirements.

Curriculum: Deliver engaging sessions in Maths, English, and/or Science following the UK National Curriculum, adapted to the student's pace and needs.

Settings: Work in diverse environments including schools, public spaces (e.g., libraries), and student homes.

Impact: Form a lasting bond that supports the student throughout their academic journey.

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Strong grasp of the current UK National Curriculum.
  • Compliance: Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply immediately).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills are essential for this student group.
