The hospital is undergoing regeneration and renewal and is a centre for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, attracting students from London teaching hospitals as well as overseas. The training environment supports doctors wishing to undertake research or further medical qualifications and provides opportunities to prepare for the MRCP examination. Trainees are supported by a well organised Medical Education Centre; candidates for Clinical Fellow posts will have the same study leave time allowance and teaching opportunities as those in formal training posts.
The Department of General Medicine at Whipps Cross Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services to the local population of Waltham Forest, Western Redbridge and the neighbouring part of South West Essex.
