Job description

We are currently hiring for a Trunk Sewer Technician to join our Strategic Pumping & Trunks Operations Team covering South London.

What you’ll be doing
  • Complete planned, emergency and defect maintenance of the trunk sewer network.
  • Physical maintenance of the sewer network and associated assets, e.g. penstock gates.
  • Operation of plant and equipment.
  • Cleaning, basic maintenance and fault-finding.

Please note, for this role will be mandatory to work in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting heavy loads; training will be provided.

Base location

South London - Greenwich Storm (SE108JL)

Working hours

38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 3:45 pm; with 1 week out of 5 on the night shift from 9:00 pm - 5:30 am; with opportunity to be included on the standby rota, for which you will also receive an additional payment.

  • Physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment daily, as you will complete manual handling activities to operate large mechanical assets and perform grounds maintenance.
  • Proactive approach demonstrating working positively and effectively within a team environment.
  • Keen and motivated team member, able to demonstrate initiative and a flexible approach to work.
  • Clean-shaven to wear respiratory protective equipment correctly.
