Overview

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in urgent/emergency care triage? We have an opportunity to join our amiable and professional nursing and medical team at Crowborough MIU, Uckfield MIU and Lewes Urgent Treatment Centre. Our Centres are dedicated to providing urgent and unscheduled care to the Lewes community and surrounding areas, operating from 08:00 to 20:00 hours, seven days a week.

This advert is for a total of 3 Triage Nurses, who will be based one per site (Crowborough MIU, Uckfield MIU and Lewes UTC). The role will be primarily based at either one of these sites but there will be the expectation of cross-site cover when needed. There is an Urgent and Emergency Clinical Reference Group to explore innovative staffing models, clinical pathways, training, and supervision to ensure staff are well-supported to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Join a collaborative and supportive team of professionals committed to excellence in patient care.
  • Play a crucial role in delivering high-quality urgent and emergency care to the community as part of urgent treatment services.
  • Triaging, evaluating, and prioritising patients upon arrival, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective care within target times.
  • Maintain a composed and confident presence with outstanding nursing and communication abilities, and effectively manage and prioritise workloads.
  • Work in a streaming capacity to assess patients on arrival and prioritise according to clinical need, streaming to the appropriate service within the Unit.
  • Provide support, guidance, supervision for staff nurses, students, and receptionists within agreed boundaries of practice.
  • Develop skills and knowledge to assess, plan, and deliver care, refer to relevant specialty or outside agencies, supported by the Emergency Nurse Practitioner on duty as required.
Qualifications & Requirements

Qualified Registered Nurse with triage experience and a passion for making a difference. The role requires the ability to work across sites and provide effective urgent care leadership within the unit.
