Main duties of the job
This role is for anexperienced Practice Nurse delivering the full range of treatment room nursingservices. The post holder will:
- Provide high quality, safe, evidence basednursing care within the treatment room
- Carry out wound care, dressings, ulcermanagement, ear irrigation, ECGs, hypertension monitoring, injections, andother clinical procedures including swabs and cervical screening
- Undertake health checks, NHS screening, adult and childhood immunisations
- Maintain accurate clinical records and upholdinfection control standards
- Work collaboratively with GPs, ACPs, HCAs, andthe wider multidisciplinary team
- Offer patient education and promote healthylifestyle choices

Job responsibilities
JOB TITLE:Treatment Room Nurse
HOURS: 16 HOURS PER WEEK Thursday and Friday 8.00pm 4.30pm
Job Summary:
As our Treatment Room Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support within our treatment room clinics. You will provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care, working closely with our clinical and administrative team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities: including, but not exclusive to
- Venepuncture
- Wound care/dressings/ulcer management
- Immunisations including travel and childhood vaccines
- ECG
- Urinalysis
- Swabs
- Cervical screening
- Travel health
- Removal of sutures/clips
- Contraceptive pill checks/sexual health
- Health promotion and screening activities
- Maintaining clean, well-stocked, and safe treatment rooms
- Accurate documentation of patient care and treatments
- Adherence to infection control and clinical governance policies
- To perform other clinical tasks as trained and within the skills of the post holder, as may be required by the Practice

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council)
- Active and relevant professional registration
- Experience working as a treatment room nurse in General Practice
Experience
- -NMC registered Nurse
- -Experience of QOF
- -Awareness of infection prevention and control
- -Understanding of safeguarding procedures
- -Knowledge of current nursing practice and NHS protocols
- -Competent in using electronic patient records
- -Able to document accurately and timely
- -Good time management and prioritisation-
- -Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- -Experience working within a Primary care environment with minimum of one years experience in chronic wound management, childhood immunisations, adult vaccines and cervical cytology
