New Transport Planning Manager opportunity - Join a Leading European Transport & Logistics Company

  • Location: Wix
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, working hours between 7am-5.30pm.
  • Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience.

RMS is excited to partner with a leading European transport & logistics organisation to recruit a Transport Planning Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional with a strong background in Transport Leadership to become part of a high-performing team.

About the Role:

As a Transport Planning Manager you will be responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations, optimising route planning, and maintaining excellent levels of customer satisfaction. Working closely with senior leadership, you will contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
  • Lead, manage and develop drivers, transport planners and the Driver Fleet Coordinator.
  • Partner with HR to recruit, train and manage team performance.
  • Ensure all customer SLAs are met and satisfaction levels remain high.
Operational Performance
  • Oversee daily transport and logistics activities, ensuring routes are planned effectively.
  • Monitor fleet utilisation, maximising efficiency and minimising downtime.
  • Work closely with the Fleet Manager to manage maintenance schedules and report incidents.
  • Attend and lead weekly planning meetings to ensure operations run on time and within budget.
  • Support ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements for road operations.
  • Maintain strong Health & Safety standards across all operational activities.
Commercial & Strategic
  • Support wider business growth through effective cost control and operational optimisation.
  • Contribute to annual budget planning with the General Manager.
  • Report weekly and monthly operational highlights.
  • Participate in Group Compliance Meetings.
Continous Improvement
  • Promote ongoing improvement in quality, efficiency, and damage reduction.
  • Adapt to changing operational demands while maintaining productivity and profitability.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

About you:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in logistics or operations management within the transport or freight sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands‑on management style.
  • Excellent knowledge of route planning, compliance and UK transport regulations.
  • Proficient in logistics and fleet management systems (e.g., TMS, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI).
  • Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is essential.
  • Valid UK Driving licence is essential.
