Transport Planner

Location: Hartlepool

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be partnering with a national distributor that, due to continued expansion, is seeking to appoint a Transport Planner to join its centralised planning team.

This is a key operational role responsible for the day‑to‑day routing and utilisation of vehicles, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient transport operations across the allocated sites or region.

The Role

Reporting into the transport leadership team, the Transport Planner will be responsible for delivering effective vehicle planning while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Implementing and adhering to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures
  • Scheduling all vehicles for the allocated sites/region
  • Managing driver holidays and absences to ensure service continuity
  • Coordinating driver briefing and de‑briefing with regional traffic operators
  • Ensuring drivers attend all mandatory and operational training
  • Ensuring vehicle availability for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Managing depot fuel stock levels
  • Producing and maintaining accurate operational and performance reporting
  • Ensuring all planning objectives are met and exceeded wherever possible

Qualifications & Experience (Preferred)
  • Transport Manager CPC
  • Previous experience in a transport planning environment
