Job description

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team at our Rugby site.

As a Transport Planner, you will contribute to the success of the transport team by overseeing the day-to-day planning of transport operations. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, experienced in fast-paced environments, and capable of handling daily challenges to develop effective transport plans.

Working hours: Monday - Friday nights, 20:00 - 06:00

Salary: £32,000 per annum

Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
  • Collaborate with Transport and Warehouse teams to create efficient transport plans using the latest TMS.
  • Assemble over 400 consolidated orders into loads within 24 hours.
  • Plan and subcontract orders from multiple warehouses and manufacturing sites across the UK.
  • Manage daily fleet workload, including vehicles based on-site and outbases.
  • Report issues, resolve problems, and handle queries promptly.
  • Plan approximately 100 collections daily on a time-critical basis.
  • Maintain and exceed KPI targets.
  • Continuously seek improvements in processes.
  • Make decisions under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Adapt flexibly to meet business needs, especially during peak periods.
  • Utilise the Culina Group network efficiently to support Warrens when volumes increase.
Qualifications:
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience planning units across multiple depots.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Customer-focused with strong delivery performance.
  • Financially and commercially astute, driven to deliver results.
  • Experience using a TMS system.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel formulas.
