Transport Planner – South Leeds, West Yorkshire

Salary: £33,(Apply online only) – £35,(Apply online only) per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week

Interaction Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner on behalf of our client based in South Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established logistics operation and play a key role in ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of their fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and optimise daily routes for a mixed fleet of vehicles (Class 1 HGVs to vans), ensuring cost-effective and timely deliveries.
  • Monitor driver schedules and ensure compliance with Working Time Directive and driver hours regulations.
  • Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any delivery issues.
  • React to changes in delivery requirements, traffic conditions, or vehicle availability with effective re-routing.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and delivery performance.
  • Use transport planning software (experience with Paragon is desirable) to support route optimisation and reporting.
  • Ensure all transport activities are carried out in line with company policies and health & safety standards.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics coordination role.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS); Paragon experience is a plus.
