Responsibilities

• Coordinating drivers: Booking in and dispatching 40+ drivers and subcontractors.
• Gatehouse operations: Managing vehicle flow and ensuring timely loading.
• Customer communication: Handling ETAs, delivery updates, and issue resolution.
• Admin & compliance: Processing debriefs, PODs, and maintaining accurate records.
• Planning support: Assisting with transport scheduling, maintenance, and KPI reporting.
• Haulier relations: Building strong links with third‑party hauliers and internal teams.
• Service excellence: Ensuring on‑time deliveries and full compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Flexibility: Supporting a 3‑shift operation—adaptability is essential. 1–2 years’ experience working within a transport office or office environment.
• Strong communication and administration skills, able to handle different personality types.
• Great organisational skills, management capability and strong influencing skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel (training will be provided).

Position Details and Compensation

We're on the lookout for a Transport Shift Operator to join our team. This is a full‑time, permanent role working the night shift: Monday to Thursday 22:00‑06:00, Friday 18:00‑02:00. Pay, benefits, and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000 per annum. As well as this, you'll receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), access to a variety of high street discounts, a cycle‑to‑work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks. There is also an opportunity to learn and progress through the transport operation.
