Job Title: Transport Manager
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £45,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join a logistics operation based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and professional transport professional to take ownership of a growing fleet and play a key role in the success of the business.

Role Overview

As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of a fleet, covering 2 contracts across designated regions. You will ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, deliver operational excellence, and support the development and growth of the transport function.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the transport department.
• Oversee a fleet of 8 HGV lorries and ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced, and roadworthy.
• Lead and support drivers, ensuring adherence to regulations and company standards.
• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence obligations, and health & safety.
• Monitor transport performance, costs, and KPIs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contracts.
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations and grow the transport business.

Candidate Requirements

• CPC qualification (essential).
• Valid HGV licence (essential).
• Strong understanding of transport compliance and regulations.
• Previous experience in a Transport Manager role or similar logistics management position.
• Ability to manage a small fleet with ambition to grow the operation.
• Hands-on approach with excellent leadership and communication skills.
