Job description
Overview

The Best Connection are seeking to recruit a Transport Co-Ordinator to work with their client in Darlington. This is a Temp to Perm opportunity for an experienced Transport Co-Ordinator to join a busy distribution team, supporting daily transport operations and ensuring compliance.

The Role
  • Allocate driver schedules, pre-brief and debrief drivers
  • Handle daily transport issues and keep customers updated
  • Complete driver reports and paperwork
  • Plan holiday cover and support with backhaul planning
  • Report vehicle defects and minimise downtime
  • Learn and monitor compliance (WTD & driving hours)
  • Ad hoc duties as required
  • Initial training alongside Team Leaders before running shifts independently as a Transport Co-Ordinator
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous Transport Co-Ordinator or transport background preferred
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • IT literate - TMS knowledge (Sharp, Sphere) an advantage
Hours & Pay
  • 40 hours per week (30 min unpaid break)
  • Core: 12:00 - 20:00 (occasional nights 20:00 - 06:00)
  • Training shifts: 06:00 - 14:00 / 12:00 - 20:00 / 20:00 - 06:00
  • £13.70 per hour + overtime at 1.5x
