A leading waste management company is seeking an experienced Plant Operative for their facility in Wednesbury. The role involves working on rotating shifts to accept, physically treat, and dispatch hazardous waste materials. Candidates must possess a valid Counterbalance FLT licence and demonstrate a strong ability to work safely and effectively in a team. Experience in the waste industry is preferred. An opportunity has arisen to join the hardworking team at Wednesbury Hazardous Waste Transfer Station.
We are in need of an experienced Plant Operative to work a 45 hours per week on rotating shifts of 0700 to 1600 and 09:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday. Some flexibility on start finish times may occasionally be required and the work may include some weekends if required.
Operatives will be involved in the acceptance, physical treatment and dispatch of packed waste materials, typically hazardous products arising from household collections including, but not limited to, Paints, Aerosols, Oil, Batteries, Cleaning products etc. Operatives will have daily targets to meet, be able to work safely in a busy waste Transfer Station processing environment working as part of a team to strict health and safety policy and procedures.
Operatives will be trained in all aspects of the process. Waste industry experience would be advantageous as would any supervisory experience, first aid, fire marshal training, mobile and or static plant maintenance knowledge.
Candidates must be in possession of an in date Counterbalance FLT licence. In addition to the use of mobile plant the operatives will be required to perform manual handling duties when necessary i.e. sweeping and cleaning of spilled material, sortation, weighing and repacking of packaged goods along with general site housekeeping.
