A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a Tranche Integration Manager to oversee multi-disciplinary activities in a complex defence infrastructure programme. This role involves proactive leadership, stakeholder management, and ensuring program alignment and integration. The ideal candidate has experience in the defence sector and relevant project management qualifications, including a degree and chartered status.
Navy Command Headquarters (NCHQ) is the operational nerve centre of the Royal Navy, supporting global operations and providing the ships, submarines, people, aircraft, and equipment required to deliver the UK’s defence priorities.
The Submarine Directorate oversees the capability and availability of all in-service submarines, including the Submarine Flotilla and Clyde Naval Base.
Programme Euston is a nationally important Major Programme delivering new floating and shore‑based infrastructure to support current and future out‑of‑water engineering for submarine operations at HMNB Clyde. As one of the government’s top 100 major programmes, it offers a rare opportunity to contribute to a highly complex and rewarding national endeavour.
We are recruiting a Tranche Integration Manager to lead and integrate multi‑disciplinary activities within a major defence infrastructure programme. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will ensure that your tranche progresses to plan, aligns with other tranches, and adheres to shared programme requirements and schedules.
You will act as a central coordination point between delivery agents, stakeholders and the wider programme, and may be required to deputise for the Programme Manager.
Provide proactive leadership to delivery agents and integrated teams.
Offer authoritative guidance on programme management best practice.
Lead by example, driving results while modelling the right culture and behaviours.
Build strong, collaborative relationships across Navy Command, DIO, MoD and HMNB Clyde.
Ensure fair and consistent performance management and champion inclusion.
Identify and support capability development needs across your teams.
Ensure compliance with mandatory training, security and H&S requirements.
Motivate and engage the Integrated Programme Management Team and stakeholders.
Support the Programme Manager in delivering departmental objectives.
Recruit and line manage staff as required.
Monitor programme progress, ensuring clarity of objectives and integration of activities.
Maintain credible and affordable integration across tranches.
Ensure delivery partners work to shared requirements, WBS and assumptions.
Develop milestones and KPIs and track progress.
Support reporting on time, cost, quality, safety and other metrics.
Contribute to approvals, budget cycles and financial planning.
Provide regular reports to Programme Manager and leadership.
Deputise for the Programme Manager when required.
Ensure effective use of programme management tools, artefacts and techniques.
Support development and critique of Business Cases.
Own tranche‑level benefits maps and realisation plans.
Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver tranche plans.
Provide assured reporting to senior programme leadership.
Identify and resolve risks, conflicts and issues in collaboration with Project Controls.
Ensure key decisions are captured, scheduled and escalated as required.
Support implementation of an integrated project team approach.
Maintain strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Leadership within a large or complex capability delivery programme.
Delivery within a structured environment with evidence of innovative problem‑solving.
Experience leading virtual or cross‑functional teams.
Degree in engineering, project management, or relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
Chartered‑level professional status or equivalent.
Experience working within a regulated environment.
Defence or national security sector experience (government or industry).
Application of established programme and project management methodologies.
MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or other relevant qualifications.
