A key healthcare provider in Stockport is seeking a qualified Registered General Nurse or ODP to lead the implementation of education, training, and development strategies. The candidate will provide skilled leadership, ensure evidence-based training across all staff groups and improve care standards. This role necessitates extensive theatre experience and involves significant involvement in the development of clinical staff. The post holder will provide the lead role for the implementation of the education, training and development strategy across theatres for all staff groups. The post holder must ensure the implementation of education and training to support evidenced based care across the clinical teams. The post holder will improve standards of care through the development of all staff groups, undertaking audit and research, teaching and supporting colleagues and the provision of skilled leadership. The post holder will ensure that the workforce is fit for purpose in terms of their roles and that individual/role competencies are reviewed to provide a safe, high quality and efficient service. With the support of the clinical skills facilitator the post holder will lead the provision and management of ODP training programs. The post holder will be responsible for the quality placement of student bursaries and Associate Nurses. The post holder will lead to the implementation of mandatory training, preceptorship and continuing professional development. The post holder will contribute to the Trust education and development strategies, leading projects as designated by the Lead Nurse or the Lead Practitioner for Education and Development.
Provide leadership and line management to the Clinical Practice Leads to ensure they develop actions to achieve a safe, competent trained workforce.
Ensure all HR policies and procedures are implanted and adhered to ensure supportive, safe management of team
Take the lead in developing students to be safe competent practitioners through quality theatre placements
Be responsible for evaluating skills deficits in the team and setting an improvement trajectory for each year
Role model standards to care and behavior through clinical practice through visibility in clinical areas.
Formulate networks within and outside the organization to ensure peer support and clinical supervision.
Contribute to the development of clinical practice in the specialist field across greater Manchester by networking with other acute trusts.
To advise the Business Manager and Matron of changes to education so we offer the most up-to-date and relevant training to our staff.
Minimize clinical risk by ensuring that clinical practice and the development of clinical guidelines adhere to guidelines produced by regulatory bodies.
To act as a resource to the team leaders in developing SOP/Policy to improve patient care through reproducible procedures.
Maintains professional registration and practice through CPD
