Job Description
This is an on-site position operating on a weekly rotational shift schedule, with early shifts from 06:45 to 14:45 and late shifts from 15:00 to 23:00. Flexibility is required to accommodate shift changes and potential overtime.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Deliver high-quality training across the UKLC site, ensuring new hires and existing staff are confident and competent in operating Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Lead inductions and refresher sessions on equipment such as lifters, hand tools, cranes, and more, a range of equipment types used across the site.
- Develop and maintain training guides, helping standardise learning materials and improve training consistency.
- Promote safety and compliance, leveraging your accident-free record to model best practices in equipment handling.
- Support operational efficiency by upskilling colleagues and reducing downtime through effective training and assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including management and operations, to align training with business needs.
- Champion inclusivity and communication, adapting your delivery style to suit diverse audiences and learning preferences.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying gaps in training and proposing enhancements to tools, methods, or content.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to deliver multi-mode training and work effectively with others.
- Organised and flexible mindset, ready to adapt to shift changes, travel for courses, and manage training schedules.
- Good IT proficiency, as training involves using tablets and software platforms to deliver and track learning.
- Customer service orientation, to guide and support learners with empathy and clarity throughout their training journey.
External Qualifications and Competencies
- B1 Counterbalance and D2 Reach Truck: B1 Counterbalance licence essential and having a D2 reach licence is an advantage
- Crane licence: Preferred but not essential, training will be given.
- Industrial operating experience: At least 6 months operational experience on a B1 counterbalance.
- Instructor certifications: You will be expected to complete RTITB Instructor and Crane Instructor courses, with additional upskilling across a range of equipment and IOSH training.
- Safety record: No at-fault Mechanical Handling Equipment accidents or incidents in the last 12 months are expected. Flexibility may be considered for non-fault incidents.
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position
The position holder may be eligible for a supplementary salary increase, subject to review and confirmation during the offer stage.
The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionised agreement.
