Job summary

A leading service provider in the utilities industry is seeking a Water Efficiency Technician to conduct checks and surveys at customer properties across Birmingham, Walsall, and Wolverhampton. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 qualification in plumbing, strong communication skills, and experience in customer-facing roles. Responsibilities include measuring water flow rates, repairing minor leaks, and installing water-saving devices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in plumbing required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • At least one year of customer-facing experience.
  • A manual driving licence.
  • Able to obtain and pass a clean DBS check.
  • National water hygiene card is preferable.

Overview

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for a Water Efficiency Technician. Location: Birmingham, Walsall & Wolverhampton

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for conducting Home Water Efficiency Checks at customers’ properties on behalf of our client.
  • Conduct water efficiency surveys by engaging customers with behavioural questions and provide advice on water usage along with recommendations for potential savings.
  • Measure water flow rates accurately.
  • Inspect for and repair minor leaks.
  • Install water-saving devices and products.
  • Use handheld digital tools to record water flow measurements and report findings accurately.
  • Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and suppliers to escalate issues or arrange further works where required.
  • Maintain and manage stock of water-saving equipment and ensure correct usage and documentation.
  • Always adhere to Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in plumbing required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • At least one year of customer-facing experience, as all visits involve customer appointments.
  • A manual driving licence.
  • Able to obtain and pass a clean DBS check.
  • National water hygiene card is preferable (training provided for those without).
