(Applicants must live within a 20-minute radius of the base location, LS9 0PJ)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week. Important Note: You'll be required to work a minimum of 3 nights in a 4-week period.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Leakage Inspector to join the Water Distribution team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?
DMA Leakage Inspectors are responsible for proactively investigating 'Distribution Monitored Areas' using acoustic detection equipment to identify, pinpoint and promote leaks on our distribution network to our service partners for repair. If you have a passion for solving problems, working outdoors (and working at night), understanding how the clean water network operates, dealing with customers and utilising the latest detection technologies, then this role may be for you.

As our Trainee Leakage Inspector you will learn leakage detection and investigation techniques without impacting on the wider water network.
With the, you will work in the field and classroom to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Water Network - Leakage. This comprehensive qualification combines classroom learning with hands‑on field assessments, preparing you for success.
Successful completion of the traineeship includes the minimum of a pass at end point assessment within two years of starting the Apprenticeship (which is the apprenticeship start date). This includes assessments of knowledge, skills and behaviours detailed within the Apprenticeships standard, all of which must be met and agreed by the training provider and line manager within Yorkshire Water before being put forward for End Point Assessment.
The successful completion of the traineeship will include meeting the knowledge, skills and behavioural requirements of the Apprenticeship standard and internal expectations plus the successful completion of the end point assessment.

If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre‑employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third‑Party Company, prior to commencing employment. Depending on the role, you may also be required to go through the security vetting process for either a Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance.
