Working across Essex and areas of London

We are recruiting on behalf of a family run multi-disciplined construction contractor, that's been operating for over 20 years and looking for a Trainee / Junior Project Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled tradesperson ready to step off the tools and develop into a management role, with full training and mentorship provided.

The Role

You will work closely with the Projects Director to oversee a variety of projects, ranging from small-scale maintenance works to medium-sized construction projects (up to £300k+ in value). The role will remain hands-on at times, but the focus is on developing your skills to manage projects from start to finish.

  • Assisting with the management of projects from pre-start to handover.
  • Overseeing subcontractors, resources, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within cost.
  • Carrying out toolbox talks, maintaining site records, and ensuring H&S compliance.
  • Preparing progress reports, valuations, and client updates.
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure accurate delivery.
  • Travelling to sites across Essex and London.
About You

We\'re looking for a candidate with a strong construction multi-trade background, that\'s eager to progress into project management.

Essential requirements
  • Minimum 10 years\' experience on the tools with a broad building knowledge.
  • Level 3 trade qualification.
  • CSCS card.
  • Computer literacy (Excel, MS Office) and good written English.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Organised, reliable, and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication and leadership potential.
Desirable
  • Previous site management experience.
  • Experience interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
