A leading healthcare institution in Greater London is seeking a Trainee Emergency Practitioner to provide advanced patient care autonomously within the Urgent Treatment Centre. The role involves assessing patients, managing a nursing team, and developing care protocols. Successful candidates will complete extensive training and achieve a Level 7 qualification, ensuring a strong clinical foundation. This role is a training post for the Trainee Emergency Practitioner to work towards achieving an advanced level of practice and qualified to work autonomously within the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). Once qualified the post holder will deliver care to patients attending the Emergency Department and the UTC without reference to a doctor. The role encompasses all pillars of advanced practice which are clinical, leadership, research and educational components as detailed below.
To qualify as an Emergency Practitioner, the successful applicant will be required to complete a three‑week training course, undertake 150 hours of supervised clinical practice, and successfully complete a professional portfolio. In addition, the applicant will be required to pass both clinical and academic assessments at Level 7. On completion they will move on a Band 7 qualified Emergency Practitioner role.
