Job Title: Trainee CCTV Drainage Engineer - Anglian Water Network

Location: Various sites across the Anglian Water Region (East of England)

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 47.5 hours per week

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee CCTV Drainage Engineer to join our team working on the Anglian Water network. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in drainage surveying with full training provided. You'll be working alongside experienced engineers to carry out CCTV surveys of drainage systems, learning how to assess conditions, identify defects, and support maintenance and repair strategies.

As a CCTV Drainage Engineer, You Will

  • Assist in operating CCTV equipment to inspect foul and surface water drainage systems
  • Work in line with Anglian Water’s standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines
  • Receive training to use industry-standard software (e.g. WinCan) to help produce reports and condition assessments
  • Support in identifying drainage issues such as blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingress
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to understand survey requirements and data collection methods
  • Help maintain and check equipment to ensure everything is ready for daily operations
  • Be trained in confined space entry procedures and work safely as part of a team (training and certification provided)
  • Assist in emergency response situations where drainage issues or flooding occur
  • Learn how to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) with supervision

About You

  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)
  • A strong interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineering
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills and a desire to learn new software
