Job description

Our client, a global investment firm based in London, is seeking a Trainee Accountant/Bookkeeper to become a vital member of their finance team. This role involves recording, organising, and maintaining the Group's financial records, ensuring that financial transactions are accurately documented and processed promptly. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of essential tasks that support the finance function, as well as contribute to the overall financial health of the firm. The position offers practical experience in core accounting functions, alongside full training and study support if required. You will be exposed to private equity and offshore fund accounting, providing a unique opportunity for professional growth. The firm is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK and has a strong focus on maintaining high standards in financial management.

Job Duties
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations
  • Process invoices and input into the accounting system (Quickbooks)
  • Process weekly payments, including ad-hoc payments
  • Support the Financial Controller/CFO in preparing weekly management reports
  • Assist the Financial Controller/CFO in preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Aid the Financial Controller/CFO in preparing year-end financial statements
  • Assist in the completion of year-end audits and tax reporting
Job Requirements
  • Organised with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess basic computer skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting standards (beneficial but not required)
  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Educated to A' level standard or equivalent
  • Currently studying or planning to study an accounting qualification (beneficial but not required)
