Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Trading Standards Enforcement Officer in Bournemouth. This full-time role involves conducting food standards inspections and performing enforcement duties related to product safety and fair trading. The ideal candidate will have experience in the trading standards field and strong reporting skills. Salary is £35.14 per hour on a temporary contract basis.

Trading Standards Enforcement Officer needed in Bournemouth, £35.14ph PAYE - Reference: 5283928

To complete food standards inspections in accordance with the Food Standards Delivery Model

Undertake inspections either desktop or in premises depending on identified risks.

  • To perform enforcement and compliance duties with regard to trading standards this may include:
    • Responding to complaints about product safety, fair trading, food standards, illicit tobacco and alcohol, age restricted goods, animal welfare (livestock), weights and measures, and intellectual property using risk-based approach.
    • Undertaking inspections arising from information received or gathered
    • Proactive visits including supporting partner agencies such as Police or HMRC
    • Preparing and presenting reports and where necessary legal documents to support formal action
    • Preparing and serving notices and penalties

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis
