Job summary

A large global company in Swindon is seeking to hire an experienced Trade Compliance Lead. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK and US regulations, managing import/export processes, and liaising with authorities. The ideal candidate has a solid background in customs compliance and strong communication skills.   • Inthis hybrid role you will be responsible for leading all aspects of tradecompliance ensuring appropriate controls are in place to meet UK and USregulation
  • Ensurea robust control framework is in place for managing imports and exportsand in particular where special customs procedures are used
  • Overseeall import/ export customs entries providing clearance instructions toforwarders and maintain records
  • Obtainexport licences where required, maintain records of use and report to HMRC
  • Communicatewith HMRC and ECJU, whilst managing queries and taking responsibility forcustoms audits and reviews
  • Maintaincontrol procedures to prevent violations of US regulations (ITAR/EAR)including technology regulations
  • Continuallymonitor and improve systems and processes used throughout the business toensure robust compliance procedures are maintained
  • Definingstrategy to ensure regulatory alignment will be part of your role
What makes you great
  • Youhave demonstrable background in customs compliance including corporateexperience
  • Adegree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or arelated field is preferred but not mandatory
  • Previousexperience in a senior customs role
  • Strongcommunication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability toinfluence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the business
  • Understandingof UK customs special procedures and impact on tax and duty
  • Excellentknowledge and awareness of US compliance regulations
  • Strongunderstanding of export licences
  • Youhave solid excel skills
