Overview

Our client, a global telecoms organisation, is looking for an experienced Business Trade Compliance & Sanctions Manager to provide subject matter expertise across global trade controls and sanctions regulations. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the organisation conducts its operations responsibly, lawfully, and in alignment with global regulatory frameworks. The role will sit at the heart of shaping and embedding a culture of compliance, balancing regulatory demands with commercial needs to enable sustainable growth across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a primary point of expertise on trade compliance and sanctions, providing actionable advice to internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Build collaborative relationships across departments to help manage and reduce regulatory risk related to international trade.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and services by participating in internal product risk assessments and offering practical, compliant guidance throughout the development cycle.
  • Evaluate export transactions and business activities to ensure they meet legal obligations, including managing internal approvals and supporting regulatory filings or licence requests.
  • Implement and maintain trade compliance controls within the business
  • Coordinate closely with central compliance teams to ensure accurate reporting and data flows into the broader Compliance Management System.
Qualifications
  • Have proven experience in trade compliance and sanctions within an international, regulated business environment
  • Ideally have professional certification in compliance or trade controls (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent)
  • Ideally have a degree in law, finance, international relations, or a related discipline.
