Town Planning consultant (graduate to principal)

Hybrid working | Wiltshire

Are you a talented town planner looking to develop your career in the South West? We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious professional - from graduate level through to principal town planner - to join a small family feel team, working across a variety of projects.

What you'll be doing

• Leading, supporting or delivering planning applications, appeals, preapplication advice, permitted development proposals, etc., depending on your experience level
• Interpreting policy, analysing planning policy and mapping it to development potential
• Preparing robust technical reports, coordinating with stakeholders, clients and consultees
• Supervising less experienced staff (if Principal level), mentoring graduates or more junior planners
• Developing professional networks across local government, private clients, developers, community groups

What we\'re looking for

• A qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning or related discipline; chartered membership of the RTPI desirable especially for senior roles
• Experience in local authority planning or private consultancy in the South West - or strong transferable skills with demonstrable understanding of UK planning system
• Competence across all stages of the planning process: applications, appeals, policy interpretation, permitted development, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present clear, wellargued reports
• Strong organisational ability, ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, work independently and in teams
