Job summary

A market-leading Defence and Aerospace company in Bolton is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer for a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in mechanical design and development, with a high proficiency in PTC Creo. This role involves creating tooling solutions, developing technical requirements, and producing concept designs. Competitive pay at £50 per hour is offered.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in mechanical design and development using engineering tools and techniques.
• High level of proficiency in PTC Creo (or equivalent 3-D CAD package).
• Experience working with FMEA, DFA, DFM and other development techniques.

Tooling Design Engineer

Contract: 6 months
Location: Bolton
Rate: £50 per hour, Inside IR35

We are looking for a skilled Tooling Design Engineer to join a market‑leading Defence and Aerospace company. You will work alongside experienced engineers and develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Creating tooling solutions on a wide variety of projects
• Develop technical requirements
• Produce concept designs
• Organise design/peer reviews
• Manage workload and priorities
• Complete detailed design
• Interface with the definition team to create 2‑D drawings
• Publish all CAD data

Skills / Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in mechanical design and development using engineering tools and techniques
• High level of proficiency in PTC Creo (or equivalent 3‑D CAD package)
• Experience working with FMEA, DFA, DFM and other development techniques
• Experience developing manufacturing tooling and mechanical handling equipment from concept to production drawings
• Ability to understand customer needs and develop credible design solutions
