Position: Toilet Attendant
Location: Banbridge
Duration: Fixed term contract for 3 months, may be extended
Pay Rate: Scale 1, SCP 4 £13.05 per hour
Hours of work: 28.5 Hours per week, Shift 1-Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8am-5.30pm, Shift 2-Tues, Thursday and Saturday: 8am-5.30pm

Ashton Recruitment is recruiting a Toilet Attendant for our Public Sector client in Banbridge. This role involves maintaining public toilets to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring facility security, and providing excellent customer service to the public.

Duties will include:

  • Open and close public toilets, securing doors, windows, gates, and alarms.
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance to ensure hygiene standards.
  • Collect litter in surrounding areas.
  • Assist the public with complaints or service requests.
  • Report defects, accidents, or issues to supervisor.
  • Support continuous improvement of council services.
  • Implement environmental management procedures (ISO 14001).
  • Follow health and safety procedures to protect yourself and the public.
  • Supervise the facility during opening hours and provide support where required.
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the role.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Minimum 6 months experience in a customer service environment.
  2. Minimum 6 months experience in cleaning public facilities.
  3. Effective communication skills.
  4. Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
