Job summary

A leading catering service in Ascot is looking for a part-time Kitchen Porter to maintain cleanliness and assist chefs with food preparation. You will work Monday to Friday evenings, as well as Saturdays. The ideal candidate should have customer service skills and be able to demonstrate a reasonable understanding of English. Qualifications

  • Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Good understanding of verbal and written English.

Overview

Kitchen Porter – Ascot – Part Time, Permanent

Salary: 12.21
Hours: 28 per week
Location: Ascot (free on-site parking)

An independent day and boarding preparatory school for boys aged 6–13 in Ascot. Catering for approximately 300 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, AM snack, Lunch, PM snack and supper along with match teas. This is a term time only contract and operates Monday to Sunday so working pattern is 5 over 7 days.

Working hours: Monday-Friday 16:00-20:00 & Saturday 08:00-16:00

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Ascot.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
  • Operate the industrial dishwasher
  • Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using provided instructions and cleaning materials
  • Assist Chefs with some food preparation as required
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards
Requirements / Skills
  • Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Great team player
  • Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
  • Ability to demonstrate a reasonable/good understanding of verbal English
  • Good written English and reading skills
  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential
  • Can-do attitude and good organisation skills

  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English

  • Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred
