Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Test Engineer to join our growing team in Slough, United Kingdom. This role focuses on supporting the prototype testing team by designing and commissioning test equipment tailored to project-specific requirements and developing processes and tools to enhance consistency and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a safe work environment, troubleshooting equipment, and creating test plans to identify and address problems with prototypes.
  • Understand unique product testing requirements and identify test equipment needs.
  • Assist the product teams with the creation of test plans and experiments.
  • Creating written and graphed test data reports and helping to conclude the outcome.
  • Present data to a wider group and provide insight on key test events.
  • Create new processes and procedures.
  • Creation of new software tools
  • Develop design 3D and 2D designs of mechanical test equipment and assemble tools.
  • Producing basic pressure & instrument diagrams (P&ID) for test setups.
  • Building and commissioning of prototype test equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner and understand and apply general safety practices.
  • Work in an organized manner, understanding and applying 5S.
  • Self‑manage own schedule, providing commitments and executing effectively.
  • Contribute to team improvement projects
  • Apply a methodical approach to fault finding and RCAs for both testing equipment and new products – isolation of variables.
  • Documentation – Project scopes, SOPs, equipment manuals.
Qualifications
  • UK: BSC / BEng / MSC / MEng qualification.
Technical Skills

  • Good numeracy skills
  • Engineering / physics fundamentals
  • Ability to understand basic electrical and pneumatic systems
