Shift Leader pay: starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but there are also opportunities to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) if desired.

The availability windows show the periods we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. We are open to flexibility if your availability closely matches but is not exact to the advertised times.

As a Shift Leader you will:

  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
  • Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
  • Be there for customers, listening and helping them leave with what they came for
  • Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and giving feedback
  • Guide and support colleagues in-store, ensuring a safe place to work and shop
  • Maintain understanding of store performance and assist managers in actions to improve operations
  • Lead from the front and set a positive example for your team

You will be responsible for

  • Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
  • Supporting colleagues to deliver priorities and take regular breaks
  • Opening and closing the store and completing duty cover with safety in mind
  • Being the go-to person for day-to-day queries in the absence of a manager
  • Keeping the store clean, tidy and well-presented
  • Supporting managers to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events
  • Contributing to a great, inclusive team atmosphere
  • Providing excellent customer service and listening to customers
  • Keeping the team informed of communications and updates
  • Staying aware of store performance and seeking improvements
  • Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to service
  • Following health and safety procedures and ensuring colleagues do the same
  • Recognising and celebrating colleagues who provide great service
