Job description

Location: Cardiff

Employer: Tesco

We are looking for a Shift Leader to join our team. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the store, supporting your colleagues, and providing great customer service.

Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too.

We are looking for someone who is a great role model, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to take the lead and oversee the store in the absence of the Manager. You will need to be a good decision maker, flexible, and comfortable handling change to ensure everything we do is right for customers and colleagues.

  • Coordinate the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
  • Support your colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks
  • Opening and closing the store, and completing duty cover, ensuring all decisions made are right for everyone's safety
  • Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
  • Make sure the store is always clean, tidy, and well-presented

We offer a range of benefits, including holiday starting at 20 days plus a personal day, flexible working, and access to free wellbeing services. We are proud to have an inclusive culture at Tesco where everyone truly feels able to be themselves.

If you are a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about providing great customer service, we would love to hear from you.
