Job description

Finlay Jude Associates are working with a respected organisation recognised for delivering major infrastructure projects across the water and wastewater sectors. Our client is expanding their delivery team and is seeking a Temporary Works Coordinator to support ongoing and upcoming projects. The role will be a contract position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and assurance of all Temporary Works (TW) activities across the project
  • Maintain the Temporary Works Register, ensuring all items are identified, risk assessed, and controlled throughout their lifecycle
  • Develop and implement the project Temporary Works Procedure in line with company standards and BS 5975
  • Prepare and brief Temporary Works Design Briefs, clearly defining load cases, constraints, interfaces, and methodology
  • Coordinate design assurance, design checks, and change control, ensuring all as built information is captured and approved
  • Manage interfaces between temporary works and permanent works, utilities, scaffolding, lifting operations, earthworks, and geotechnical risks
  • Nominate and brief Temporary Works Supervisors, ensuring full understanding of design intent and inspection requirements
  • Oversee installation, inspection, maintenance, monitoring, adaptation, and removal of temporary works in accordance with approved designs
  • Enforce strict change management processes, ensuring no deviations occur without formal approval
  • Integrate TW requirements into lifting plans, excavation support, formwork/falsework, temporary stability, access/edge protection, temporary services, and over pumping
  • Conduct site inspections, escape hazards, and stop work where controls are not in place
  • Maintain all TW documentation including design briefs, certificates, permits, inspections, NCRs, and handover/strike records
  • Provide weekly updates to the Project Manager on critical TW activities, hold points, design deliverables, risks, and opportunities
Requirements
  • CSCS card (appropriate level)
  • CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Training Course (TWCTC)
  • SMSTS or equivalent site management safety qualification
  • First Aid at Work (desirable)
  • Appointed Person (Lifting) or LOLER awareness (desirable)
  • Extensive construction or engineering experience, with at least 2 years in Temporary Works coordination or supervision
  • Proven experience delivering TW across disciplines such as civil structures, deep excavations, formwork/falsework, temporary stability, scaffolding, temporary services, heavy lifting, and crane platforms
  • Strong understanding of design checks, permits, hold points, and interface risk management
  • Experience working with tier 1 contractors, major subcontractors, and design consultants
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with site teams, designers, and stakeholders
