About This Role

Are you a UWE student looking for part time work while studying? Want to gain skills employers want in a supportive working environment? If so, come and join the friendly UWE library team! In this role you would work as part of the team at the Glenside Library helpdesk to provide high-quality customer service to our users.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in customer service and to gain experience of working within a busy team. Based in the Library Services’ Learning Services team, you will spend a significant amount of time working at the library service desk at the Glenside Library, helping students as well as getting involved in some administrative tasks such as fetching reserved books.

Responsibilities
  • Working on a front-facing desk, or within the library, providing students with information about our services and signposting as appropriate, this is a significant part of the role.
  • You must be able to commit to working 10 hours every week from your start date in January until the end of May.
  • Some manual tasks such as taking returned books from our self-service kiosks, sorting books on trolleys, shelving books, filling printers with paper.

This is a part-time, fixed-term post until June 2025, working 10 hours per week. UWE Bristol is a campus-based University, and it is vital to our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. A major part of this role requires you to be on campus to work in person at the helpdesk therefore this role is campus based for all of your time.
