A local healthcare organization in Ulverston is seeking a Temporary Housekeeper to maintain hygiene and cleanliness within the hospice. You will work as part of a team, ensuring all areas are kept to high standards while communicating effectively with other staff, visitors, and patients. To ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the hospice, through adhering to recognised policies and procedures.To be able to work unsupervised across the hospice building.To work alongside the other departments and teams across the Hospice.To ensure confidentiality at all times.
Managing the day to day housekeeping workload to ensure timely completion of work.Perform all housekeeping duties in the Hospice building as required,Use the cleaning schedules to ensure all work is undertaken and recorded as per policies and procedures.Observe specialist cleaning requirements in relevant areas (e.g in-patient unit, and treatment rooms) as instructed, to ensure a high degree of cleanliness and minimise the risk of cross infection.Follow relevant policies and procedures in role to ensure infection prevention and control is adhered to at all times.Replenish disposable items as required, reporting high usage or losses to the housekeeping supervisorAttend all training sessions required for the role, including all mandatory and statutory education annually.Prioritise a changing workload, often working under pressure, keeping all team members up to date with changes in schedules or tasks.Maintain departmental records and checklists / cleaning schedules as required.Ensure that all supplies are used economically, according to any specified procedures, and that waste is kept to a minimum.Report any accidents and/or incidents using the relevant forms as soon as possible.Report any breakdowns or defects in equipment to the relevant administrator.Observe safe working practices current national recommendations and legislation.Manage waste in the Hospice, recycling appropriate waste where possible.Ensure laundry requirements are carried out for relevant departments.

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our excellent housekeeping team.
We are looking for an efficient temporary Housekeeper to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the hospice.
You will work alongside other teams as well as visitors, patients & volunteers in all areas of the Hospice, therefore communication skills are a must.
Its also important that you possess a great level of compassion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
This role has potential to be extended beyond 6 months, and the possibility to lead to permanent hours.
