Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Temporary Accounts Assistant in Scarborough. This role offers flexible working hours (minimum 30 hours per week) and an hourly pay of £14 to £16, depending on experience. The successful candidate will assist with various financial functions, including managing accounts and preparing reports. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with regular financial functions, including preparing BACs runs for suppliers.
  • Weekly bank reconciliation.
  • Monthly update of the fixed asset register.
  • Assist in production of monthly management reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Assist with budget related activities.
  • Assist with Payroll administration.

Overview

A business based in Scarborough are currently recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join their team on a temporary, ongoing basis. This role offers full or part-time working (30 hours minimum per week). The hourly rate is circa £14 to £16 per hour, reflecting your experience and potential qualification level. This role is temporary ongoing (for 2-3+ months), with an immediate start. The role would be ideal for someone who is immediately available with finance experience seeking a new role to start in September/October, continuing through into the run-up to Christmas.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with regular financial functions, including preparing BACs runs for suppliers.
  • Weekly bank reconciliation
  • Monthly update of the fixed asset register
  • Assist in production of monthly management reports, managing budget allocation and cost analysis
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns
  • Assist with budget related activities
  • Assist with Payroll administration
Qualifications / Experience
  • Strong organisational, attention to detail and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software, with the ability to manage invoicing and reporting
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • AAT qualified or similar level experience (QBE)
  • Previous experience of responsibility for accounts function in small to medium sized business
Location

This opportunity, based in the Newby area of Scarborough, is easily commutable from Sherburn, Filey, Hunmanby, Scarborough, Whitby and the surrounding areas. There is ample parking on site and the company is potentially accessible via public transport, depending on the successful candidate's location.
