Hours per week: 37 (part time hours will be considered)

The Role

Join Hampshire Engineering Services as a Technician Degree Apprentice and play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects across highways, structures and water. Earn a degree while building a career in civil engineering.

What you’ll do
  • Design – Identify and propose solutions, prepare technical reports and produce designs using AutoCAD, Civils 3D, InfoDrainage.
  • Implementation – Prepare contract documents and ensure construction works are programme and within budget.
  • Project Management – Support activity programming, monitor and control progress to achieve completion on programme.
  • Financial Control – Prepare estimates, monitor and review project costs, including works and fees of internal and external consultants, to ensure completion within agreed budgets.
  • Communication – Liaise with project client, project team, internal/external consultants, contractors and the public, face‑to‑face, by telephone and email. Prepare reports as required.
  • Training – Maintain and update personal technical expertise, assist with training and development of other Technicians.

Apprenticeship Information: Over five years you’ll complete a Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Portsmouth, including an end‑point assessment by the ICE, leading to Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
