About the Role

A superb independent senior school in West London is seeking a talented Theatre Manager to lead the technical and operational running of its professional-standard theatre and performing arts spaces. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about technical theatre, production management and performing arts to help establish a world-class creative programme.

Role overview

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of school theatre operations including lighting, sound, rigging, set building, scheduling and health & safety. You will also play a vital role in supporting performances, school productions, student clubs and community events, ensuring the theatre runs to professional standards at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day running and scheduling of the school theatre and performing arts facilities.
  • Provide technical expertise across lighting, sound (QLab, microphones), rigging and stage management.
  • Support school productions, concerts, drama showcases and community events.
  • Recruit, train and supervise a student technical crew for productions.
  • Lead production planning, including scheduling, budgeting and health & safety compliance.
  • Assist with front-of-house operations, technical supervision and event management.
  • Ensure all theatre equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong technical theatre background with skills in lighting design/programming, rigging, sound and set construction.
  • Experience as a Theatre Technician, Theatre Manager, or Technical Theatre Manager, ideally in a school, college or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety in theatre operations, including risk assessments.
  • High level of digital literacy and familiarity with theatre technology/software.
