Overview

Freelance Technical Services Manager - Fit Out (Cat A & B) – Location: Coventry – Rate: GBP350 - GBP400 per day (freelance) – Contract: 6 months – Client: Public Sector

The Role

Working on behalf of the main contractor, you will lead all aspects of M&E services, coordinating multiple specialist subcontractors and ensuring seamless integration of systems including mechanical, electrical, heating, BMS, data, and audio.

Key responsibilities

• Overseeing delivery of all technical services on-site for the main contractor.
• Managing and coordinating multiple subcontractors, ensuring quality, programme, and compliance.
• Reviewing design information, identifying clashes, and resolving interface issues.
• Leading testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E and specialist services.
• Acting as the main point of contact for the client and design teams on technical matters.

About You

• Strong background as a Technical Services Manager or M&E Manager with a main contractor.
• Demonstrable experience managing large fit-out schemes (GBP5m+).
• Skilled in handling multiple specialist subcontractors simultaneously.
• Technical knowledge across M&E, BMS, heating, and AV/data installations.
• Previous exposure to public sector projects advantageous.
