Job summary

A local government authority in Scotland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of capital and maintenance projects. This role involves working on various projects from feasibility to handover, ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulations. Candidates should possess working knowledge of industry standards and experience with design software. A relevant degree and professional institute membership are preferred but not essential. Job description

The opportunity to deliver a key role within Glasgow City Council’s Property and Consulting Services department.


The post holder will lead the electrical engineering design and delivery of capital and maintenance projects for various members of the Glasgow Family. The post holder will report to the Grade 8 Assistant group manager.
The postholder will work on projects from feasibility stage , through design , construction , commission, and handover, under the guidance of the Assistant group manager.


You will have working knowledge of technical standards, CIBSE guides and IET Wiring Regulations.


Experience of design of lighting, LV supply, small power distribution, earthing, lightning protection, fire and voice alarm systems, telecommunication services, to include cable sizing, specification writing and liaison with utility providers.


Coordination with architects, structural engineers, PQS, CDM and internal (CAD, Revit).
Attending design team and progress meetings


Experience of AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation preferred.


it would be preferred (but not essential) for you to have a relevant degree, have membership of a relevant professional Institute, have knowledge of relevant British Standards and industry best practice.
