A leading financial services provider is seeking a Technical Lead for Risk Models based in Milton Keynes. Capital and Risk Models is a sub-domain of Enterprise Services part of the Chief Information Office of Santander Technology and Operations, providing enterprise-wide systems and support services that help run and transform the bank’s IT, data and business capabilities. Specifically, the area looks after the calculation of PRA and ECB calculations for Credit Risk and Finance, including but not limited to IFRS9, IRB, Regulatory Capital and other Risk Metrics.
Capital and Risk Models under Enterprise Services is looking for a Software Engineer based out of Milton Keynes.
This role is a 15 month fixed term contract.
As part of the Capital and Risk Models domain, you will be the Technical Lead for Risk responsible for driving the design and delivery of Risk Models and Reporting. This role will drive the Risk product roadmap and the successful delivery of its goal to improve the efficiency, flexibility, and traceability of the common reporting framework to internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership in guiding engineering teams, setting technical standards, and collaborating with product, risk and governance stakeholders in regulated environments to deliver resilient, auditable and production‑ready solutions.
Extensive experienceNative guiding the design, delivery and operation of cloud‑native data and software platforms on AWS, with hands‑on expertise.
Proven track record of architecting scalable and secure data pipelines and event‑driven services, with strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code, applying least‑privilege security models through IAM, and embedding monitoring, logging and cost‑optimisation practices.
Experience of supporting production‑related incidents until resolution.
Experience working within Financial or Banking companies would be beneficial.
