Technical Lead - F5 & Network Infrastructure

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with deep expertise in F5 BIG-IP technologies to lead the design, delivery, and support of critical network and application delivery services. This role combines hands‑on technical leadership with mentoring, project ownership, and stakeholder engagement.

You will act as a senior technical authority, guiding F5 deployments and migrations while supporting and developing junior engineers within a complex, multi‑tenant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, upgrade, and migration of F5 BIG-IP platforms, including LTM and GTM/DNS
• Provide expert-level (3rd line) support for F5 systems, resolving complex incidents and proactively preventing issues
• Own and drive technical projects end‑to‑end, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to meet delivery milestones
• Maintain high‑quality technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures
• Delegate tasks across multiple workstreams, tracking progress and ensuring successful outcomes
• Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
• Communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable insights

Key Skills & Experience

• Advanced, hands‑on experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM and GTM/DNS)
• Proven experience leading F5-focused technical projects (deployments, upgrades, migrations)
• Strong troubleshooting and optimisation skills in enterprise‑scale environments
• Experience working with multi‑tenant and virtualised platforms, including VIPRION and/or rSeries
• Good general networking knowledge, including routing and switching
• Working experience with ACI and Fortigate Firewalls
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with F5 HSM/FIPS
• F5 Certifications (eg F5 Certified BIG‑IP Administrator or Solution Expert)
• Additional networking or security certifications
