To meet this evolving need, Schneider Electric has launched an Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship Programme. As part of this transformation, we are seeking apprentices to join our teams and contribute to designing and implementing solutions for the smart buildings of the future.
Our four‑year Programme has work‑based “apprentice can do” placements in various engineering departments at our Telford site including but not limited to:
During your apprenticeship, you will receive two different types of training.
Delivered by Schneider Electric, as your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform the job you’ve been hired to do. In addition, we provide support to ensure your success.
Delivered by a selected training provider during normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% (average 6 hours per week) of your working hours on this protected training, which teaches you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard so you can achieve occupational competence. Training Provider: Shrewsbury College.
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Exact start and finish times are to be agreed upon with your Line Manager. Some of these hours will be allocated to off‑the‑job training as part of your apprenticeship programme.
5 GCSEs (or Level 2 equivalent) Grade 4/C or above including English, Maths, and a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject.
No pre‑requisite experience required but a demonstrable interest in engineering through school or hobby interests.
We are unfortunately unable to provide visa sponsorship for our apprenticeship positions. Certain visa types may not meet the eligibility criteria for apprenticeship funding under current government guidelines.
