Job Title: Technical Design Authority (BMC Helix)
Location: Reading, UK (Hybrid, 2–3 days on-site)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Design Authority (TDA) to lead end-to-end technical delivery for BMC Helix solutions within a complex enterprise environment. This position combines solution architecture, technical oversight, integration leadership, and delivery governance for large-scale ITSM programmes.
You will ensure technical integrity across the full lifecycle—from design to deployment—while guiding teams, stakeholders, and third-party partners to deliver high-quality, secure, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and validate architecture for BMC Helix modules including ITSM Suite, Digital Workplace, CMDB, and Smart IT.
- Design secure, scalable, maintainable solutions using Helix Innovation Studio and Business Workflows.
- Ensure alignment to ITIL best practices and enterprise-wide standards.
- Architect integrations with third-party systems such as Active Directory, orchestrators, and service assurance tools.
- Configure APIs, web services, and middleware for data exchange.
- Manage complex integration scenarios including CMDB reconciliation and identity management.
- Oversee technical delivery across multiple projects, ensuring governance compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments, dependency management, and mitigation planning.
- Balance customization vs. out-of-the-box usage to minimize technical debt.
- Collaborate with PMO on delivery plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Lead Agile execution models (Scrum / iterative delivery).
- Support testing cycles including E2E testing, UAT, and go-live readiness.
- Implement monitoring and health checks for ITSM and CMDB modules.
- Identify automation and optimisation opportunities to streamline processes.
Your Profile
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in BMC Helix / Remedy ITSM architecture and delivery.
- Strong experience with AR System, Atrium CMDB, Digital Workplace, Smart IT, and Smart Reporting.
- Deep knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Service Request).
- Proven experience integrating BMC Helix with external platforms (AD, orchestrators, discovery tools).
- Strong understanding of API development, web services, and data migration.
- Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
- Ability to manage complex delivery landscapes and multi-vendor environments.
