A leading SME developer is seeking a Technical Coordinator to manage the design process from planning to build completion. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in housebuilding or Main Contracting, strong knowledge of Building Regulations, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

Job description

We are working with a thriving SME developer to strengthen their Technical Management function with a view to new sites and phases coming live. The pipeline of land is excellent, as is their bespoke product, and this would suit someone that is looking to broaden their exposure away from PLC and / or standard housetypes.

Existing TC s and step up candidates will both be considered, housebuilding experience of working for a Developer or Main Contractor is a pre-requisite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the technical design process from planning to build completion.
  • Liaise with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure design information is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical documents to meet project and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and other statutory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to site teams during construction to resolve design-related issues.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of planning and building control applications.
  • Maintain design and technical documentation to ensure up-to-date records across all live projects.
  • Contribute to value engineering and innovation in design and construction methods.
  • Manage consultant performance and ensure deliverables meet quality, cost, and programme targets.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a Design or Technical Coordinator or similar role within housebuilding or Main Contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC, and other relevant standards.
  • Ability to interpret and review architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across disciplines.
  • Competent in managing multiple projects simultaneously and working to tight deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness and an eye for cost-effective design solutions.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and document management software.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and quality.
